Lost, confused

Floating between two worlds

I hear the chorus of voices

Beckoning from the heavens

Promises of nirvana

She smiled
as she felt the coolness
of the driving rain 
as it cascaded over her body 
during the heat of the day 

She looked angelic
Pure as sin
As the darkness 
Griped her heart
And clawed
At her soul

The children play
All sweetness and light 
With candy coated breath 
They squel with delight 
About the secrets they keep 

We follow
ancient paths 
blindly 
To find life's lessons 
of days gone by

Forever he
Will sit
In between
My heart
And soul

Dark sadness
engulfs her
Like a force of nature 
Madness sets in
As she realizes
how really lost
she is
